International Marketing and Logisitics

United Fisheries is proud of the international business relationships it has built over the years and the recognition of its export development was recognised with an “Export Award” from the New Zealand Trade Promotion Council. Some products are exported fresh chilled by air but the majority of our products are frozen and exported by sea containers.

Products are exported in many processed forms, mainly dependant on market and customer requirements. This varies from whole, to headed & gutted, fillets (skin-on, skin-off, skinned & boned, smoked), tubes (Squid), breaded/crumbed (Calamari Rings, Fish Nuggets, and Fillets) and other forms (e.g. mussel products).

The company’s highly skilled team of production, marketing and logistics personnel has wide experience in processing and product development and is able to advise customers on the best seafood to buy with regard to supply, quality and value for money.

With a total storage capacity of 6,000 tonnes and advanced plans to double this, United Fisheries' coolstore operation is one of the most modern in the Southern Hemisphere.

The environmental control facilities mean the coolstore can be worked 24 hours a day in any condition of weather enabling the Company to provide prompt and efficient storage and distribution.

The coolstore facility has a European community license and complies with all Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries requirements.

With their own fleet of modern, fully refrigerated trucks, United Fisheries is self-sufficient in transporting catches from various fishing ports and frozen processed products to the container vessels for export.

This gives the company an important edge in maintaining the cold chain and it’s reputation for quality and service.
